Past Present and Future
Good-bye 2018 and Welcome 2019! The new calendar year is a marker in time that many of us use to reflect on the past and make resolutions for the future. As you reflect on 2018, ponder on these three areas:
First: what did you learn this past year? Did this learning reframe the way you viewed a situation? How did this learning propel you forward to take action? What positive difference occurred as a result of this learning?
Second: what did you accomplish? It didn’t have to be earth-shattering, news-worthy accomplishments. It could be those tiny steps that lead to the next step; a small goal that you had been putting off; that dreaded project; an achievement that has been a long time in the making. Give yourself credit and recognition for any of these and don’t sweat what you weren’t able to do because this is where SMART goals can emerge!
Third: what are you grateful for? Calling out and writing down that which we are thankful for can change our focus and way of thinking and as a result gratitude increases happiness and positivity. Identifying those things we are grateful for can be challenging during difficult times, but is a key to transformation.
Beginning in 2019, challenge yourself to make daily goals. Learn something new, accomplish one thing you said you would do and identify what you are grateful for–yes, every day! The time spent can make a recognizable difference in you! Let me know how you do!
